Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between speech and language?

Language is what we are communicating (e.g., needs, wants, ideas, etc.). Language is located in our brain.

Speech is how we communicate (e.g., coordination of muscles). Speech is located in our mouths, as it involves the movement of our articulators (e.g., tongue, lips, soft palate, etc.).
